Can I program a new key myself if I have no working keys?
Yes, once you have had the transponder key cut by a Locksmith
1. Insert new key into ignition and turn it to the ON position. ( As far as you can go without cranking engine ) The security light on the dash will flash for fifteen minutes.
2. When the security light stops flashing, turn ignition OFF then back to ON position. The security light will flash for fifteen more minutes.
3. When the security light stops flashing, turn ignition OFF then back to ON position. The security light will flash for fifteen more minutes.
4. After the security light stops flashing the third time turn key to the OFF position. Turn key to the ON position and security light should stop flashing indicating new key has been programmed.
5. Start vehicle to test key.
Can I program a second key myself if I have one working key?
Yes, after you have had a locksmith cut the transponder chip key.
1. Insert existing working key in ignition and turn to the ON position then back to the OFF position.
2. Within 5 seconds insert new key in ignition and turn to the ON position. The security light will light up for 2 seconds to indicate successful programming. Turn key to OFF position.
3. Start vehicle to test new key.
